A small Greek island known for its fishing also contains a secret medical research facility. Something goes horribly wrong with the research being conducted and one of the researchers blows up the island and everyone and everything on it to stop the spread of a deadly disease before it leaves the island. The Disease manages to escape the island and starts showing up in other places.
Flash forward to the year 2080 and a company called Neurono-Tek (owned by Alex Pella) is asked to try to find a cure for The Disease. Neurono-Tek is the only private hospital remaining after government healthcare was put into effect and destroyed the quality of hospitals everywhere. Neurono-Tek is the only hospital with money and technology that has any chance of stopping this disease before it’s too late. Alex, along with his friends, travel to Greece and follow Bible clues to find the cure for The Disease.
The New Reality is a fast-paced thriller that manages to combine all of the best from medical, Christian and political genres into one book. Since I’m a huge fan of all three genres, this book was a pleasure to read. I’m very impressed with how realistic the author made this story. It combines real history and information from the Bible along with what is a very possible future event. If you’re a fan of either of these genres, I definitely recommend you read The New Reality by Stephen Martino.
Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
Oh this is a goodie. I love all three genres too. And talk about plucked from the headlines with the Ebola virus. I’m a nurse but I shall be dead and gone in 2080 and I know odd things can happen in the time we live now. My uncle (by marriage) is Greek, so I love to hear about that environment.
