From Fat to Finish Line
The race is a scenic but challenging course that tests the endurance of even the most seasoned athlete. The team includes moms to Marines who must continually run, day and night, to make it to the finish line. As they overcome obstacles on the course, a parallel story unfolds about the obstacles they faced on their weight loss journeys.
Following a story about making the film on the Today Show, an online support community of the same name was born. Their various forums, blog posts, and motivating stories continue the doc’s pursuit to inspire, inform and enlighten people at any stage of their journey.
“We hoped this film would inspire others. But we never anticipated the positive impact it would have on us,” said Director Angela Lee of herself and Producer Jennifer Roe. “We have taken on our own new physical challenges and have grown personally and professionally in surprising ways. It has truly been a life-changing journey for us both.”
“An inspirational story like the one in ‘From Fat to Finish Line’ deserves to be in as many homes as possible,” said Michael Murphy, President of Gravitas Ventures. “We were moved by the passion displayed in the film as much as from the filmmakers.”
“From Fat to Finish Line” was directed by Angela Lee with Lee, Jennifer Roe and Lauren Avinoam serving as producers. Lauren Hogarth and Dave Johnson are the Executive Producers. The deal was negotiated by Michael Murphy for Gravitas Ventures and attorney Rich Ginsburg on behalf of the filmmakers.

This shows that there is hope for people to lose the weight. Amazing that they lost all that weight.
They really did do a great job!
What a great motivator. So glad to see more and more of these stories and the healthy way to lose weight. I’ve been running indoors with all the bad air quality days we’ve had lately and can’t wait to get back outside.
I love seeing programs like this. How great that you aren’t letting the bad air quality stop you!
This is amazing to see how hard these people are working together to lose weight
