Happy Holidays, Garfield
What isn’t there to love about a chunky cat who goes crazy for lasagna? To be honest, I’m a fan of Odie as well because he’s so happy and sweet. I haven’t watched Garfield in quite a while so I was excited to see some of my favorites were on DVD for the holidays.
Kids and parents can join Garfield, the quick-witted orange tabby that loves lasagna, coffee, and his remote control, this holiday season as he celebrates Thanksgiving and Christmas in Happy Holidays, Garfield.
Happy Holidays, Garfield ($6.99 SRP) will be available on DVD September 12, 2017, and has a run time of approximately 50 minutes. This special will also be available for digital download. The DVD features these two fun-filled holiday episodes:
Garfield’s Thanksgiving
Jon Arbuckle invites veterinarian Liz to celebrate Thanksgiving with him, Garfield, and Odie! But Jon has no clue how to prepare a Thanksgiving meal and even worse, Liz declares that Garfield must be put on a diet on the day before Thanksgiving! Will anyone come to the rescue and cook a delicious dinner for Jon and Liz?
A Garfield Christmas Special
Garfield gives Grandma love notes he found that were written by her husband, from when they first met. That thoughtful gift shows Garfield that Christmas isn’t about eating lasagna or receiving presents, it’s about spending time with your family and making others happy!
My thoughts:
These Garfield holiday specials are really a favorite family tradition. It’s been a few years since I’ve been able to find them on television during the holidays so I was excited to have them on DVD to watch anytime we like. Not only are they funny (all Garfield movies are), but they manage to remind us what the real reasons are for having holidays and how important families are. Both of these shows originally came out in the late 1980s (1987 & 1989) but will still entertain families today.

I have fond memories of Garfield. One of my grandmother’s close friends was really into him, and she gave me a stuffed Garfield animal one day, which I still have, somewhere.
I had one too, Liz! Actually several!
I have this DVD and I love it. I remember watching all of these specials when I was little.
They are classics!
