Ava is at college on academic scholarships. She has her whole life planned out and cannot afford to let anything get in the way. Her friend Julia is going through a tough time after her boyfriend of 10 months, Liam, breaks up with her in a humiliating way. They come up with a plan to get back at him by making it look like Julia is sleeping around.
Liam stops by to talk to Ava one night and one thing leads to another and they kiss. It confirms what Liam knew, that he’s really interested in Ava. Ava, however has no time for a relationship and tries to convince herself that she is definitely not interested in her friend’s ex-boyfriend. Despite her best intentions, she realizes that she is attracted to Liam. She tries to fight the attraction because she isn’t sure she can trust him and doesn’t want him to get in the way of her plans but it’s not working.
Just Desserts is the second book in the duo by Tawdra Kandle. The first book is Best Served Cold which is the story of Liam and Julia’s relationship and their break up. While I definitely recommend you read Best Served Cold (it was amazing), you don’t need to have read the first book to enjoy Just Desserts by Tawdra Kandle. The characters are fun and realistic and I could totally relate to Ava. I liked seeing Liam change from a not so nice guy to someone that really redeemed himself. If you like steamy romances, you definitely want to read Just Desserts by Tawdra Kandle. I couldn’t put it down!
