When I was younger, one of the few channels my parents got on television was PBS. We didn’t get cable, and I spent a lot of time watching documentaries and educational programs. Those early years on PBS, watching Julia Child, are also what got me interested in cooking programs. Now that I’m older, I enjoy watching shows like America’s Test Kitchen.

America’s Test Kitchen Season 15
The cooks from America’s Test Kitchen are dedicated to finding the best methods for preparing foolproof home-cooked meals. The 2,500-square-foot test kitchen in which the show is shot is the same kitchen where three dozen full-time test cooks work, testing and retesting recipes 20, 30, and sometimes 50 times, until they find the recipe that they are confident will work every time. America’s Test Kitchen also includes equipment testings, live supermarket ingredient taste tests, gadget ratings, animated food science segments, and interviews with up-and-coming chefs.
Join Christopher Kimball and the cast to reveal the test kitchen’s secrets to foolproof cooking at home. From the Best Chicken Stew to Shrimp Fra Diavolo to the Best Baguette and Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, these recipes will work the first time you try them, thanks to the dozens of test cooks who develop, refine, and test recipes again and again until they arrive at the very best versions. And as always, discover the best ingredients, gadgets, and kitchen equipment for your money! These DVDs also include printable versions of all 51 recipes.
America’s Test Kitchen is a lot more than just a cooking show. Each episode will show you delicious recipes, but it will also show you WHY they’re made the way they’re made or why changes were made to the original recipe. They give you an easy to understand look at the science behind the recipe. It’s also interesting that they show you the latest kitchen products and which one works best. You get to see taste tests and watch interesting interviews. I love all of the insights I get into cooking and food related topics on America’s Test Kitchen Season 15.
America’s Test Kitchen Season 15 is available on DVD now. The run time of this program is approximately 676 minutes on 4 discs and the DVD SRP is $39.99.

Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
I’ve watched a few episodes of this show a while ago. I think I had too many cooking classes I had to take for my dietetics degree so I cook for fun now. I enjoy the Masterchef shows but not Gordon Ramsay’s other kitchen show since there is so much swearing and bleeping. I also like Chef Jacques Pepin and many on the Create TV channel. It amazes me how fast they can cook.
Me too, Deb. They are fun to watch!
I love the magazine. I didn’t know there was a TV show too. The recipes are always really good.
Oh I had no idea there was a magazine! I need to find that!
