Framed in Lace review

So Framed in Lace is another one of the books that my Mom sent over to me after she decluttered. I love cozy mysteries so she knew this one would be exactly the type I enjoy. The theme of the Needlecraft Mysteries is needlecrafts and Framed in Lace has a free cross stitch pattern included at the end of the book.

Betsey Devonshire’s sister died when she was visiting her in Minnesota. While she’s there, she is running her sister’s shop, Crewel World and taking some time for herself. One afternoon she goes to see the historic Hopkins ferry raised from the bottom of the lake and she finds herself in the middle of an old mystery.

They find a woman’s skeleton on the Hopkins and all the members of the needlecraft group are talking about it and trying to figure out who it was.  They found the skeleton with a piece of fabric that was edged with a very distinct type of lace. Everyone assumes that Betsey will help solve this mystery since she helped solved her sister’s murder.

As she starts to search for clues and talk to people who remember the time when The Hopkins was sunk, she starts to uncover secrets that some people would prefer she didn’t uncover. When there is another murder that’s tied to the discovery of the skeleton, she needs to figure out the connection.

If you enjoy cozy mysteries, I really think you’ll enjoy Framed in Lace. I enjoyed the needlecraft theme since I love crafting. Framed in Lace was a fun, easy read and I hope to find a few more of the author’s books. Buy it now.
