STEM DVD for Preschoolers: Floogals

Last Updated on April 19, 2023 by ellen

This STEM DVD for preschoolers is one of the cutest shows I’ve seen in a long time. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. It’s a vital concept that many children struggle with learning at an older age. Introducing them to this type of reasoning at a young age is a great way to encourage it as they get older.

Floogals: Destination Planet Earth is one of the latest DVDs for preschoolers from NCircle Entertainment. Join the Floogals on a mission of discovery as they explore Earth and the funny “hoomans” who live there! Captain Fleeker, First Officer Flo, and Junior Boomer are pocket sized alien adventurers on a mission to observe and experience a new and exciting world Planet Earth!

Arriving in their spaceship from the distant planet of Floog, the Floogals are on a mission to document everything around them in the peculiar world of the “hoomans”. Each day, Fleeker, Flo, and Boomer encounter something that sparks their curiosity, setting in motion the day’s research “project” and triggering an exciting adventure! First, Boomer becomes very fond of the three stripy caterpillars the kids are keeping in the shed. Then, one day one of the caterpillars disappears and then another and another.

It’s up to the Floogals to learn the mystery of the disappearing caterpillars! Then, when the Floogals encounter a balloon that’s intended for the Girl Hooman’s birthday party they think it’s a monster it’s ten times bigger than them with a giant face! Can Fleeker conquer his fear to return the balloon to the little girl in time for her birthday? Find out! Adventure is everywhere they go. They’re the Floogals! 3, 2, 1.

My thoughts:

The Floogals are a fun combination of CGI and live action television. The program is shown in CGI when the Floogals are on their spaceship and in live action when they interaction with “hoomans” in the show. Not only does the show teach valuable concepts like experimentation, discovery, and change. But, it encourages children to think creatively and try different things to find solutions. All in all, this is a great educational DVD for preschoolers.

Why not try making these Borax Crystal Flowers.
