The Adventures of Merrick The Viking is the perfect summer read for your child. If you were like me when you were a child, you probably spent hours daydreaming about being a princess or a Viking or an astronaut. I cannot tell you how many adventures I had as a child that were inspired by stories I read.

The Adventures Of Merrick The Viking
A young teenage Viking boy named Merrick must escape his Scandinavian homeland and ends up on a historic journey of discovering new lands while becoming a great sailor along the way he falls in love with a young Irish girl and has to defend her and her village along the sea.
I’ve always been fascinated by the Viking culture and legends. Can you imagine setting sail on a Viking ship to discover new lands? If your child enjoys reading about adventures, exposing them to new books over the summer is an excellent way to prevent summer slide. You don’t want your child to lose the valuable skills they learned over the school year. But, you don’t want to make learning boring either.
The Adventures of Merrick The Viking by Chris Davis is a wonderful way to encourage your child to read over the summer. The book is written for the middle-grade level and is 138 pages long. Make sure that you pick up a copy for your child to enjoy over the summer or during long car trips as you head off for vacation.

This sounds like a good book for summer reading. My granddaughter would probably love it. Thanks!
