Anime is huge in my house. The kids and my husband love it and watch it regularly. They’re very quick to tell me that anime is not cartoons.

Anime is a style of Japanese animation that is typically aimed at both adults and children. If you enjoy anime, you may have seen Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is a combination of traditional American animation and anime.
The Complete Series of Avatar Now Available
Launched in February 2005, Avatar is an animated comic adventure set in a fantastical Asian world. This epic story follows the journey of twelve-year-old Aang, a reluctant hero who must lead the fight against the evil Fire Nation to restore balance in his war-torn world.
The world is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air, and Fire. Within each nation is an order of masters who possess the ability to manipulate their native element.
They call themselves Waterbenders, Earthbenders, Airbenders, and Firebenders. The most powerful bender in the world is the Avatar, the spirit of the planet incarnate.

I’m fascinated by everything Japanese at this point from KonMari to Hello Kitty, so it was no surprise I got excited for Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Complete Series includes Book 1: Water, Book 2: Earth, and Book 3: Fire. Each book includes 5-6 discs that each contain about five episodes with various special features.
Each of the DVDs has new artwork on the case that matches the artwork on the box.
I love Avatar: The Last Airbender because it’s something that can be enjoyed by the whole family. It’s entirely appropriate for children, teens, and adults. I love that this came out of Nickelodeon, who doesn’t typically have a lot of shows that appeal to the teen/young adult crowd. It’s loaded with lots of action, light humor, and an actual storyline.
Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
Now you have me curious since I’ve never seen this one at all! It came out right when I graduated nursing school, so I must have been uber busy and no life, ha ha. I saw this on another blog too so now must look into it. I love exploring different cultures and this is one more thing I can learn about! Nickelodeon has some good programming I’m missing!
It’s loads of fun, Deb!
