Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris

Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris was the perfect read for a lazy weekend after my trip. When I came home, it was waiting for me on the kitchen table thanks to the kids and my husband. After a long day of trying to find lost luggage, there was nothing that I enjoyed more than a few hours on the couch with a good book.

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do. You’d like to get to know Grace better.

But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work.

How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

My thoughts:

When I first started reading the book, it looked like Grace had a perfect life and the perfect husband. Then the story started to change and I got a better look at what Jack was really like.

With every page I turned, I kept hoping that Grace would triumph or that I could find some little glimmer of hope that she’d find a way to stop what Jack was trying to do before it was too late.

I kept putting myself in her situation and trying to figure out a solution. In the end, I never expected the story to end quite the way it did.

I seriously couldn’t put this book down. I read it during breakfast and spent most of the afternoon on the couch reading. I couldn’t even put it down when I was making dinner. This is definitely one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time.

  1. Ooh, this sounds like quite a thriller! I’m like you, when I get sucked into a good book I can’t put it down. This is why I can’t read at night, otherwise I’ll never go to bed. LOL!

  2. I’ve been reading action adventure and getting caught up on the Jason Bourne movies since I was in nursing school around the time they first came out and life just happened. I enjoyed the thriller I won from your blog by Rob Parrish (Persecuted I will not be silent) so I know this will be a good read as well.
