How to store pumpkin apple butter
Storing pumpkin apple butter is relatively straightforward. After preparing it, allow the butter to cool completely at room temperature.
Once cooled, spoon it into a clean, airtight container such as a mason jar or plastic food storage container. Make sure to secure the lid tightly to prevent exposure to air, which can cause the butter to spoil more rapidly.
For optimum freshness, it’s best to store your pumpkin apple butter in the refrigerator. It can last for up to two weeks when stored in this manner.
If you’ve made a large batch and want to store some for later, you can also freeze it. Simply place the airtight container in the freezer where it will keep for up to a year. Always remember to defrost it in the fridge before use.
