I try to spend time regularly reading the Bible. I find that it really helps me keep focused on what’s important in life. Sometimes I have a harder time than others relating to what’s in the Bible. Our lives are a lot different now than when the Bible was written and even though I know His words are still applicable to use today, it’s hard for me to apply them. When that happens, I find it really helpful to use a daily devotional.
Jesus Calling
After years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to “listen” to God. She decided to write down what she thought God was saying to her. It took her some time to get used to, but eventually her journaling changed from monologue to dialogue. Her journal entries were helping her grow closer to God. She wrote them from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling.
She shared her writings with others and eventually people all over the world were using her messages. It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless you with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure. She is sharing Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence, that features devotions for every day of the year. The book includes the words and Scriptures she wrote about during her journalling. The book includes words of reassurance, comfort, and hope and have made her increasingly aware of His presence and allowed her to enjoy His peace.
Jesus Calling includes a year’s worth of daily readings from Young’s journals to bring you closer to Christ and move your time with Him from monologue to a dialogue.

Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
This sounds like a great book. The Twitter party should be fun.
Totally agree, Daisy!
This devotional is amazing. I have it on my desk at work; many days, I’ve felt that the message was written just for me. It’s a great way to start my day. I also bought one for my sister-in-law. She loves it, too.
I can’t wait to read it, Dede!
I use The Life Principles Bible by Charles Stanley which helps with explanations. I’ve heard of this and will be interesting to hear more about it.
That sounds good too, Deb!
Sounds like a great Twitter party, I would love to participate. I really like the structure of the book with the year’s worth of daily readings.
Hope to see you there, Carlee!
I will be sure to share this Twitter party with a fiend of mine, she will love it.
Thank you, Debi!
