Kate and Mim-Mim Flight of the Flowers is the newest DVD collection of 6 awesome adventures of Kate and her friend Mim-Mim the larger than life bunny! This particular DVD collection is a series of 6 stories that in total are about 65 minutes of fun and learning with these two adorable friends. In the stories Kate is 5 years old and that age seems appropriate for the group that would be watching these episodes. The stories are entertaining and fun without being too slow or lifeless. Before reviewing this DVD collection I had never heard of Kate & Mim-Mim but it is a cute selection of stories and was quite beautiful and fun!

Kate and Mim-Mim Flight of the Flowers
Kate & her bunny friend Mim-Mim travel to the make-believe world called “Mimiloo”. Mimiloo is the only place where Mim-Mim turns into a real life giant version of herself so she can play along with Kate and her other friends! In each story, Kate, Mim-Mim, and the cast of other characters must band together to solve a problem. I think the stories are cute and they encourage kids to find creative solutions to their problems. I also like that in Mimiloo Kate seems fearless, her character is able to be anything she wants in this fantasy world. She solves problems and makes decisions and works hard to help others; she is a good role model and a fun character with whom viewers can identify.
The stories included in this pack are “Flight of the Flowers”, “Small Wonders”, “The Need for Seed”, “Babysitting Squoosh”, “Butterfly Flowers”, and “Bunch O’Boommers”. I really liked (and my five-year-old viewing partner also liked) that the show is fast paced. The screen is always full of color and interesting aspects. The story line keeps moving and I think that is what keeps everyone interested and entertained.
During our viewing session, there were no complaints and I didn’t have anyone running around trying to do something else while we were watching. Kate & Mim-Mim Flight of the Flowers kept everyone interested, entertained, and satisfied. I thought it was also a cute idea that the stories were each a new day and a new challenge for the gang. Of course, these are not challenges that I deal with on a daily basis but for a child they are fun and exciting and they encourage creative thinking.
Overall I think it is a good set of stories and an interesting take on the problem solving, cartoon, style of show! I particularly enjoy these types of DVD’s because with 6 stories on one disc I can limit the amount of time we spend in front of the TV or I can pack this group of stories for when we travel. It’s a nice way to break up a long car ride but also a great way to say “one story, then we’re doing something else”!
Do you ever watch Kate and Mim-Mim? What are your favorite shows to let the kids enjoy?
Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
I’ve not seen any of the Kate and Mim-Mim collection but wouldn’t it make a great gift at Easter? I like kid’s shows that teach life lessons and are fun for adults to watch as well!
