6. Take 1/2 cup of concentrated lemonade and dip each cookie in and out and set back on rack for another 15 minutes,
(Sprinkle Sugar on if desired right when cookie comes out of being dunked)
Creaming the Butter
Ensure that your butter is at room temperature to create a fluffy consistency when creamed with sugar. This is the foundation for the cookie’s texture and rise.
Measuring Flour
Scoop flour into your measuring cup with a spoon and level it off with a knife for an accurate measure. Too much flour can result in a dry, crumbly texture; too little can make cookies spread too thin.
The Right Temperature
Oven temperature is crucial. Use an oven thermometer to guarantee the correct baking environment.
Warm dough results in cookies that spread less, giving them a chewier texture.
Essential Equipment
Electric hand mixer for creaming butter and sugar
Baking sheet for actual baking
Parchment paper or silicone baking mats to keep cookies from sticking
Wire cooling rack to cool cookies quickly and evenly
Having the right tools can make the process much smoother.
Personalizing Your Lemonade Cookies
Decorate with Icing
Create a simple glaze by mixing powdered sugar with lemonade concentrate and a little water. Drizzle over cooled cookies for a sweet and tangy finish.
Add Zest
Lemon zest can be mixed into the dough or sprinkled on top of the glaze for a more intense lemon flavor. It also adds a pop of color.
Cut into Shapes
Use cookie cutters to make your cookies into fun shapes, especially if you’re working with kids. I chose to roll these in balls to keep them easy.
By personalizing your cookies, you can add an extra layer of creativity to your baking adventure. This step is especially fun for themed events or holidays.
