Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time
Mouse and Mole is a TV series that is based on a series of books by Joyce Dunbar and illustrated by James Mayhew which were first published in 1993. I remember reading the books to my daughter when she was little.
Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time is a beautifully animated story about two friends who live together in a cottage in the country. Now, Mouse is practical and cheerful while Mole always gets himself into trouble and needs looking after. This DVD also includes ten bonus animated tales which are wise, witty, and filled with timeless charm.
After delivering Twelfth Night party invitations to their friends, Mouse makes a “smow-mole” for Mole who dreams that his new friend comes to life and takes him to a land where his every wish is granted! Will mole learn to be careful what he wishes for? This DVD also includes ten bonus animated tales which are wise, witty, and filled with timeless charm.
Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time includes these ten bonus stories:
- Preposterous Puddle
- Daffodil
- Least Expecting
- Picnic
- Whiskers
- Half a Banana
- Catch a Falling Leaf
- Spectacles
- A Frisky Fluttery Ghost
- The Secret of Happiness
My thoughts:
The main feature, Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time, will definitely get your child in the mood for the holidays. And, if they are asking for and wishing for all sorts of things this time of year, they may even learn a lesson. Mouse and Mole really is an adorable series.
It’s one of my favorite cartoons that teaches a real-life lesson. It reminds me of the fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper where the ant always worked hard and the grasshopper always goofed off. Mouse is practical and happy and hard working. Mole is the exact opposite and always gets in trouble.
The bonus stories are fun as well. Catch a falling leaf is one of my favorites. Mouse and Mole go for a walk in the forest to catch falling leaves. This is a great story to get kids outside to catch their own leaves and learn more about why they fall. Whiskers is also a cute story. Mole decides he isn’t happy with the way he looks so he cuts off his whiskers. This story definitely teaches a lesson about being happy the way you are.
Your child will enjoy watching all ten of the episodes included on Mouse and Mole at Christmas Time. Buy it on Amazon.
You may also enjoy Merry Stirring Mice.
Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
Sounds like a cute series. I would have been around 6 years old when these came out, although I don’t remember them.
Hope you have a chance to watch it!
