Some things just remind me of summer more than others. When I think of visiting an ice cream parlor or taking a walk on the boardwalk on the beach, the first thing that comes to mind is summer fun. These are just a few of my favorite summer activities, and I think many people would agree with me.

Ice Cream show episodes
- Shore Things – Visit a few of the greatest beaches in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Venice, California. It’s not just the beaches; you get an inside look at entertainment, street musicians, sandcastles, and more.
- An Ice Cream Show – A look at the joys of ice cream including the history and unique ice cream places from Cape Code to Hawaii. They even stop and visit Ben and Jerry’s in Vermont. Did you know that premium ice creams have less air than bargain brands?
- Great Old Amusement Parks – Visit some vintage carousels and old amusement parks with rides they don’t make anymore. Go cross-country from New York to Oregon and take a ride on some of the best wooden roller coasters around. I love the old miniature train in Idlewild and the trolley ride through Mr. Rogers’ neighborhood!
- A Hot Dog Program – Hot dogs are an American tradition, and you get to visit some of the best hot dog shops around the country. I love all the different toppings people enjoy sauerkraut, chili, onions, relish, bacon, and more.
Rick Sebak PBS Summer Fun DVD is an excellent way to enjoy your summer all year long. It really is one of my favorite Rick Sebak documentaries.

Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
I like watching programming like this. It reminds me of a series I enjoy called Things That Aren’t Here Anymore, which is just for Los Angeles, but it’s fun to look back at the historic places and fun places anywhere.
That sounds like a fun program, Deb!
