I love science fiction movies and have for as long as I can remember. Since I’m also a fan of children’s programming, it’s a real treat to be able to watch animated science fiction programming intended for kids. I recently learned about a TV series called Alisa Knows What to Do that is based on a popular story by Soviet science fiction writer Kir Bulychov. The series is about 12-year-old Alisa Selezneva and her friends in the late 21st century. Alisa Knows What to Do is a science fiction adventure series that is geared toward children that are 
ages 5 to 11.

The Mystery of the Last Truenox DVD
Alisa Knows What to Do! is based on the extremely popular Russian science-fiction novels about Alise Seleznyova, a young girl from the future, by the famous Russian author Kir Bulychiov. This animated series weaves a tale about the adventures of a group of teenagers living at the end of the 21st century.
The world has changed yet the burning questions that occupied people at the beginning of the century are still pertinent today. Alisa and her friends not only battle evil and injustice but they are also concerned with global problems like the natural balance and a clean environment, both on the planet and in space.
From the far-off planet Verum, Alisa’s father, Professor Salazar, brings back a truenox a mysterious creature that is able to predict the future. Without warning, Professor Salazar’s colleague Doctor Gilliam kidnaps the truenox, who Alisa and her friends have grown very fond of. Alisa rushes to the aid of her new friend. Will she save him from Doctor Gilliam? Find out and then embark on three more exciting adventures with Alisa and her friends!
I love that The Mystery of the Last Truenox DVD is not only a fun animated series for kids but that it teaches kids a lesson while entertaining them. The science fiction / superhero theme of the series will appeal to kids of all ages, and watching Alisa and her friends try to fix injustices will hopefully encourage kids to do the same.

Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
This looks like an informative program that my granddaughter would enjoy. And the sing-a-long would be her favorite part!
I’m sure my library would welcome it as a donation to their children’s section. It doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on acquisitions.
