Throwing a Grammy Viewing Party
If you’re considering inviting over a few close friends for a party, now is the time to start planning. Snacks, decor, games.
There is a lot to think about to make your party a success. I will receive a gift to thank me for sharing this information.
A Grammy is an award given by The Recording Academy to primarily English language music performers. This year, you’ll be able to watch the award ceremony on CBS on February 12th.
There are quite a few different awards that are given out for Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, Best Rock Album, etc. There are a few things that I’m excited to see up for an award this year.
- Justin Bieber – Love Yourself – Song of the Year
- Twenty One Pilots – Stressed Out – Album of the Year
- The Chainsmokers – Best New Artist (loved the song Selfie)
Now, I have no idea if they will win or not but I think it will be fun to have a few friends over to have a party while we watch it. Here are some tips for throwing a Grammy viewing party in case you’d like to have one too.
Gold Decor
The Grammy Award is a gold gramophone so it only makes sense to keep your decorations gold in color. If you cannot find plates that are gold, simple white plates and napkins will work fine.
Add in some gold streamers, black balloons, gold party hats, and curling ribbon. If your friends are up to it, have them dress in white, black and gold to keep with the theme.
Party Favors
Of course, party favors aren’t a requirement but they can be fun. I like to keep it to useful things so consider a small gold treat bag filled with popcorn and gold wrapped candies.
My husband is a huge fan of Werther’s candies and since they are wrapped in gold, I’ll be using those. There are a few dark chocolate candy brands that wrap their individual chocolates in gold-colored paper that would work as well.
Party Snacks
You can go easy or complicated with party food. Consider setting out a cheese, meat and fruit board for your guests to help themselves. It’s much easier than a sit-down meal.
Of course, you’ll want to have a big bowl of Skinnypop popcorn for everyone to enjoy during the viewing party. What’s television without popcorn to snack on?
Party Games
Your guests may want to play a few party games during the Grammy’s so I wanted to share this printable ballot with you. Let your guests make their choices and see who comes closest to guessing the winners. Just click on the image above to download a printable ballot to use.
