The Christmas Star From Afar
I love all there is about Christmas, except possibly the snow storms. There are so many different ways to celebrate this time of year with your family. But, I hadn’t seen a game that that really emphasized the real reason for the holiday.
The Christmas Star From Afar is a fun and unique game that teaches children about the true meaning of Christmas. Each day during the week before Christmas kids search for the Star for a fun hide-and-seek game (like Elf on the Shelf) and once it’s been located they move the Three Wise Men to its location for that day until they reach their final destination at the stable with newborn baby Jesus.
The Christmas Star From Afar includes a book, wooden Star, a full wooden nativity scene that matches the artwork of the book, and optional scripture to use throughout the month. Buy one today.
My thoughts:
This is such a fun idea for the whole family to enjoy during the time leading up to Christmas. I was never a fan of the Elf on the Shelf because I think he really tends to show bad behavior and the focus is more on gifts and elves than it is on the birth of Jesus.
You can enjoy The Christmas Star From Afar in several different ways depending on the age of your child. You set up the nativity first. Then every night, you hide the star. In the morning, the kids find the store and move all the Wise Men to its location.
Then, you can read the scripture. You repeat this every night. Then, on Christmas Eve, you put the star on top of the nativity stable. And, on Christmas morning, the Three Wise Men reach the nativity and find baby Jesus.
The Christmas Star From Afar would make a wonderful gift for any child on your list, or buy one to start a new family tradition.
Ellen is a mom of a 25-year-old son and 30-year-old daughter. She is Grandma to one adorable toddler. In what little spare time she has, she loves to read, watch movies, and check out the latest toys and games.
Yay for celebrating the true meaning of Christmas and not the usual accumulation of toys! I love these are wooden and that you can read scriptures when playing with it. I hope to get out my nativity scene this Christmas for display too!
Totally agree, Deb!
