Pretzel M&M Hugs
This is one of the most popular recipes for the holiday season. These little treats are perfect for Christmas parties or holiday treats.
There are many different ways you can make pretzel hugs. I’ve seen them made with candy cane kisses, dark chocolate kisses, and white chocolate kisses.
They are easy to prepare and don’t require any special ingredients or kitchen tools. It looks like you spent much more time making them than you did.
What are pretzel hugs?
Pretzel hugs are a simple and delicious sweet treat made with mini pretzels and Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses. When the chocolate melts, it looks like the pretzels are twisted around the chocolate kiss to form a hug shape, hence the name “pretzel hugs”.
They make great gifts for any occasion or just to snack on. Kids love them! The sweet and salty combination is delicious!

Square pretzels for pretzel hugs
This recipe uses square pretzels. In the store, look for Snyder Of Hanover’s Snap Pretzels. Don’t use the Butter Snaps for this recipe.
If you cannot find these, round pretzels will also work but they will look a bit different.
Christmas pretzel hugs
If you want to make Christmas pretzels, you will use the same basic recipe with a few changes.
To make these Christmas style, buy red and green M&Ms only. And, you can use one Hershey’s Hug chocolate kiss rather than a regular chocolate kiss.
Hershey’s Hugs have the stripes on them and it will give this easy treat a little bit different look once they melt.
This are such a great gift for the holidays. It’s an easy recipe that the kids can help with as long as they have supervision.

Parchment paper or wax paper?
Wax paper will melt when exposed to heat so you need to use parchment paper.

How to store Christmas pretzel chocolates
If you need to store these treats, store in an airtight container at room temperature. Enjoy!
If you make these in the summer or when the temperatures are high, you can keep them in the refrigerator.
Let the chocolate set fully before you put the candy away in the refrigerator.
