My children have always enjoyed search books. Some of the search books we found were too advanced for them and the items they were searching for were too difficult to find. That can be very frustrating for a child. Spot a Lot Animal Escape by Steve Smallman is a search book that is perfect for your younger child. Each page or set of pages will have your child searching for certain animals. Even better, the author asks your child to find a certain number of a certain animal.
There are words to read on each page along with bright, colorful pictures. Your child will enjoy spotting 7 batty little bats wearing silly party hats among a variety of birds, butterflies, balloons and animals. The highest the book goes to is 10 which means this is perfect for the child learning about colors and numbers. This is a hardcover book that will definitely withstand repeated readings by your child. The fun story and rhyme will make your child want to read the book over and over again and the interaction of finding the correct animals on each page will keep your child entertained.
