I have always been fascinated by the suicide forest in Japan. If you haven’t heard about it, it’s the place where people go to kill themselves in Japan.

It is supposedly haunted and no one will enter it unless they want to die. It is a 14 square mile forest that lies at the northwest base of Mount Fuji in Japan.

I have seen several movies that take place in the forest and I have just learned that there is another movie called The Forest that premieres January 8, 2016! I am so excited!

Set in the actual Aokigahara Forest in Japan, THE FOREST centers around Sara (Natalie Dormer of “Game of Thrones” and “The Hunger Games”), a young American woman in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared within the depths of the forest.

SYNOPSIS: A supernatural thriller set in the legendary Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. A young American woman, Sara (Natalie Dormer of “Game of Thrones” and “The Hunger Games”), goes in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. Despite everyone’s warnings to “stay on the path,” Sara enters the forest determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate – only to be confronted by the angry and tormented souls of the dead that prey on anyone who wanders into the forest.

  1. I’ve never heard of that forest but sounds mysteriously scary–perfect for the season.I’ll have to watch more of the clips on this one.
