I absolutely love children’s books. Someday, I will have grandbabies to spoil. Until then, I’ll just enjoy reading them myself and sharing them with you. I was recently sent a copy of My Pancakes Taste Different Today! by Heather Wood Galpert and Bruce Galpert.

Children's Book: My Pancakes Taste Different Today! My Pancakes Taste Different Today!

Could a Pancake have the power to shape a child’s view of their world? It was a surprise to Ethan that his favorite breakfast, a stack of steaming hot pancakes, would reveal many ways that nature and people work together. He discovered that everyone has a hand in taking care of nature. Ethan would have never guessed that his simple, innocent act of tossing an oil can into the lake, just to make a big splash for fun, could change his whole wide world.

The slippery journey of the oily OOZE leaking from the can, across the lake, down the river to the beaver ponds, and into the fields of grain brought all of Ethan’s friends together. Everyone pitched in to clean up the OOZE from the lake, the fish, and the fields, to get rid of the mess around the lake they all loved. They celebrated with a party and plenty of pancakes.

My review

My Pancakes Taste Different Today! is an adorable book that will help your child understand how important it is to take responsibility for our actions and for protecting the environment. This book will also help your child understand where our food comes from and how small decisions can have a major impact on our lives.

Your child will also learn that by working together we can all make a big difference. This is definitely a wonderful way to explain taking care of the earth to your child. Finally, visit the author’s website.

  1. I just love children’s books too! I don’t have grandchildren but thankfully can “borrow” kids and of course babysit and read the books. This is such a unique book and very timely for me since I just spent a week listening to detox summit talks and interviews. I’m a huge champion of getting kids and adults off the processed food too, so love all the great messages this book teaches.
