I’m coming down with a cold and have spent a good amount of time this week on the couch with a cup of tea and a book. I’m sure I have the children to thank for it. Either way, I’ve been hunting for a new book to read since I am all out. I was sent Impatience by Laura Stapleton for review. Impatience by Laura Stapleton
In the second full novel in an Atlantic Maritime series, an assumed loyal son is the first suspect after his invalid mother’s surprise death. Was the suspect impatient for his inheritance? Or did old age catch up to the dear elderly lady? Can Aaron and Mandy teaming up again help explain his patient’s death before the wrong man is arrested?
Impatience by Laura Stapleton is the second book in the Nova Scotia Murder Mysteries series. I haven’t read the first one, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this one. Mandy is a hair dresser and lives next door to Aaron who is a doctor. One of Aaron’s elderly patients dies and he is convinced that, despite her age, her death wasn’t from natural causes. Together, they start asking questions to see if it really was the patient’s son as the police expect.
The author really drew me into the story right away. Several times as I was reading, I was sure that I knew exactly who killed Dorie, but then something would happen and I would change my mind. I loved working through the mystery with Mandy and Aaron as they unraveled who really did it almost as much as I enjoyed watching their romantic relationship evolve. Definitely a great book to curl up with.

But how, when he was alone on a fishing trip? Her sexy neighbor, Dr. Aaron Nicholson, knows much more than he can say.
