About the movie
In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher.
Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a Jesus Revolution.

Jesus Revolution review
Fans of Kelsey Grammer will be thrilled to see that he stars in this film. I know I was. We hear so much about our differences today that it’s inspiring to see a film that reminds us that we are bigger than our differences. The movie is based on a true story and the acting is absolutely amazing.
Pastor Chuck Smith’s church is dying. It’s not attracting new believers and he is not connecting with today’s generation. In a conversation with his teenager daughter, he has a disagreement about how hippies and her more open mindset.
He jokes around that someone should send him a hippie so that he can understand them. And, he meets Lonnie Frisbee, a hippie street preacher. And, he invites him to his church.
Some of the practitioners are not necessarily thrilled about a group of hippies starting to come to their church. In one scene, someone makes a comment that their dirty feet will get the carpet dirty. So, Pastor washes their feet. This scene literally brought tears to my eyes.
I don’t want to give away too much of the film. But, I really recommend that you watch Jesus Revolution. If you feel like you’re looking for something in your life that you just can’t find, find God. He’s got what you’re looking for.

I like Kelsey Grammer and the genre of this movie.
Growing up in the 60s and 70s, I feel I lived this scene. In fact the church I grew up in actually split into another and they formed a new church, with more progressive music and services. My sister is still with that church and my folks with the original church. Makes me sad many young people have turned their back on religion entirely but films like this give me hope more will open their eyes to what Jesus has to offer. I love the trailer music too!
