Slime can be so much fun to play with. And, it comes in all sorts of fun colors. But, clear slime is even more fun because you can add glitter and other accents to it when you make it.
Half the fun of glitter is letting the kids help you make it. This slime recipe uses contact lens solution which you can find at your local Walmart store.

How do you make clear glitter slime?
You will need to mix the water, baking soda, and clear kid’s glue together first. Then, follow up by adding the contact lens solution.
Knead it on a flat surface. Then, add the glitter and work it through the slime until it’s fully incorporated.
If you want a white glitter, you can make this DIY chia seed slime. Add food coloring to customize the final color.

Can I change the color?
Yes, if you want your clear glitter slime to have a slight tint to it, you can add a few drops of food coloring. Just be sure not to add too much or you won’t be able to see the glitter.

What type of contact solution do I need?
The contact solution you use needs to have boric acid and sodium borate in order for this recipe to work. I find that this one works well.
Tips for keeping your slime clear
You need to very slowly pour in the glue if you want it to stay clear. If your final product isn’t clear, you poured it too quickly.
How long will this stay good?
This glitter slime recipe will stay good for a few weeks. Be sure that the kids use it with clean hands so that it stays in the best condition possible. Store in an airtight container when you’re not using it.
Remember to clean the surface you’ll be playing with it on. The slime will pick up dirt, pet hair, crumbs, etc. when you use it which will change the way it looks.
Any type of glass or plastic container with a tight lid will work for this. Tupperware containers work well. Or, a Mason jar would work well too if you have them.

Materials
- ¼ cup warm water
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup clear kid’s glue
- 1 tablespoon contact solution (must have boric acid and sodium borate)
- Glitter

Instructions
- In a medium-size bowl, add baking soda and warm water. Slowly mix until the baking soda is dissolved.
- SLOWLY mix in your clear glue. This is especially important to get the crystal-clear slime. If you mix too quickly, it forms bubbles, which makes the slime get cloudy and you will have to start over again
- Slowly mix in your contact solution. The mixture will begin to stiffen and turn into slime. When this happens, it will pull away from the bowl. Now you can take it out and begin to knead it on a flat surface.
- Flatten out the slime. Add your glitter and knead it into the slime.
- Store in an airtight container when not in use. Enjoy!
