I am all about dystopian fiction and when you add zombies and aliens into the mix, it’s just about perfect. If you enjoy zombies as much as I do, you have got to check out these horror movies.

Survivor by Pauline Creeden
What if the Biblical End Times unfolded in a way no one told you about and the rapture didn’t happen before the tribulation began…
Aliens have attacked and Rory’s mother is missing, but none of that matters much to him. He’s safe in his apartment complex, has his friends and his twin sister, Hailey.
But as supplies start to dwindle, it becomes obvious that he needs to do something to make sure they all survive…even if it means he has to brave going outside through the Shisa and the zombies that people have become.
As long as they are safe, that’s all that matters, right?
Keep reading to see why this is on my list of good zombie books.
My review
Rory’s mom left and he and his sister and disappeared. A few weeks later, aliens attacked the Earth and it has affected the sun and the water.
The people that are bitten by the aliens turn into zombies. Those that are left are hiding out from the aliens and the zombies and trying to survive.
Rory and his sister Hailey are part of a group of people who are hiding in their apartment building. They’re going through each apartment searching for food and water but their supplies are running out.
The aliens are searching for people and the zombies are a constant threat. They know they need to venture out of the apartment for supplies if they expect to survive despite the danger.
More books by Pauline Creeden
Survivor is a novella that follows Sanctuary, the first book in the series. I hadn’t read Sanctuary and still really enjoyed Survivor. I love that the author blended the End Times with both aliens and zombies.
It really does have the best of both worlds and I could not stop reading until I reached the end. I am totally hooked and will be ordering Sanctuary now to read. I would definitely include this on my list of good zombie books.
About the author
Pauline Creeden is a USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of inventive and inspirational stories, entwining real-world problems with fantasy characters. She spends most of her day caring for the many animals around the horse farm and mentoring kids in horsemanship.
Still, she finds time to play Pokemon and binge on Kdramas.
What makes a good zombie story?
For me, when I’m looking for good zombie books, I want a main character that I can relate to. In this case, Rory and Hailey are average people that I can easily see myself knowing. That means I can relate to the story when I read it.
This makes this story one of the best apocalyptic books I’ve read in quite a while. I love that the characters are young adults and not gun-wielding macho men.
Check out the trailer for Sanctuary.

Sounds like something my son would enjoy with the aliens and zombies!
I am sure he would, Diane!
