This Christmas brownie recipe makes a wonderful base for many Christmas treats.
Just stir in one of the following:

How do you cut brownies?
Use a sharp knife to divide the brownies into individual portions. If you want square-shaped pieces, use a ruler and mark lines (every 1/2 inch or so) on the top of the frosted brownie. Then score by making lines at right angles across these lines to make squares. Use a knife to cut along the lines.
How to make holiday tree brownies
Cut each brownie in a triangle shape so that it resembles a Christmas tree. Then use green frosting and a star-shaped tip to decorate the brownies.
If you’d rather not frost the entire brownie, you can use a frosting bag to make lines to resemble tinsel. Get creative with red, green, and white. Don’t forget to add the star on top.

How to package brownies
Presentation counts when you are sending holiday brownies to friends, neighbors, or co-workers. Wrapping brownies in festive gift wrap is a great way to show that you have put some extra thought into your gift! Here’s how to wrap four dozen brownies for an office party, neighbor gift, or special delivery:
Use a large piece of festive wrapping paper for the base of your gift. Then cover the brownies with cellophane and secure them with a ribbon or bow. You can also attach sheer ribbons to each end of the jelly roll pan before you put the brownies in it.

If you can’t find festive wrapping paper, you can use white or lightly patterned paper and attach colored ribbons to the corners of the brownies.
For an extra special touch, use a paper punch to make tiny cut-outs then attach them to the box with your festive ribbons. Or, these holiday boxes work quite well.
Tip: Brownies keep for about three days at room temperature and one month in the freezer if they are wrapped tightly enough. You can also frost brownies weeks ahead of time and freeze them until you are ready to deliver them. It’s easy to make this holiday brownies recipe ahead of time.
Note: the peppermint extract will make the frosting white, not red. If you are looking for a red frosting, add a few drops of food coloring instead.
Christmas tree brownies are all decked out for the holidays!
