Christmas Handprint Art for Kids
I love Christmas craft projects. If you haven’t already, you might want to make these sports-themed Christmas ornaments.
Making your child’s handprint is a wonderful way to mark how much they grow each year. As I look back, it just amazes me how quickly the kids have grown up. Even the change from one year to another can be quite a lot.
So, while you can certainly simply record their print, it’s so much more fun to have them create a craft project with it.
Once you’ve made an image of their hand, you can use it to make Christmas handprint cards to send out for Christmas. Or, you might want to make a Christmas handprint ornament to hang on the tree.
Reindeer handprint craft
This is a fun idea that uses the thumb as the neck and the fingers as the legs. You can use brown construction paper to create this and use a red pom pom as the nose. Or, you can use brown paint and make the design on craft paper instead. Get the full directions here.
Santa handprint craft
I love the creativity of this craft that uses cotton balls for Santa’s beard. You can use this card easily as the basis for a Christmas card. Or, you can hang the final craft project on the refrigerator to enjoy throughout the season. Find out how to make this Christmas craft right here.
Christmas fingerprint art
OF course, you don’t have to use your child’s entire hand or toot to make a craft project. There are lots of cute ideas you can make using only fingerprints. You can make a Christmas tree with this craft. Or, why not make this adorable family of snowmen with this project.
Mistletoe footprint art
Footprint art is almost as much fun as handprint art. This is a fun craft for baby’s first Christmas because their feet are so tiny. It can be harder to this as your kids get older. Find out how here.
Christmas tree handprint craft
If you want to make this cute Christmas handprint art, this is what you need:
- Green acrylic paint
- Brown acrylic paint
- Red acrylic paint
- White craft paper
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Ruler
How to make a Christmas tree
- Using the ruler and pencil create a triangle shape with the small part at the top of the page. This will be the area you use to create your handprint Christmas tree.
- Fully cover your child’s hand with green acrylic paint.
- Carefully place handprints in the triangle in a row until the space is full.
- Using the brown paint, create the trunk of the tree.
- Using the red paint, make the red star at the top.
Now that you’ve made these cute Christmas handprint art projects, why not grab a book for story time. One of my favorites is Santa’s Little Helper.
