DIY Laser Tag Arena

Now that everyone is at home more and avoiding indoor arenas while social distancing, the kids may be missing some of the entertainment options they enjoyed before.

And, while it’s easy to let the kids watch movies at home rather than go to the theater, you may be wondering how to give them home play options for things like laser tag.

Thankfully, it’s not as difficult as you might think.

Inside or outside?

Unless you have a large playroom, outside is the best environment to set up your game. You won’t have to worry about the kids knocking over the lamps or falling and banging their heads on the table.

Set out markers to let everyone know what the boundaries are. You don’t them running through your garden or into the street while they’re chasing each other.

As long as the area is safe, it’s possible to play in it.

Laser tag guns

Of course, the most important thing you need is the actual laser tag gun. Thankfully, LaserX Evolution is exactly what you need.

LaserX is the #1 at-home laser tag gun out there. There are a wide variety of options from the Micro Blaster B2 to the LaserX.

The LaserX Evolution everything you need to equip two players. It has laser guns with 30 different options for colors for those that play teams. You can easily select them with the color changing dial.

They have a range of up to 300 feet which makes them perfect for backyard play. Plus, there is a voice coach to make learning and playing easier.

Hiding areas

You want an area that has places for the kids to hide. This can be as simple as a tree or the corner of the house. Or, you can set up blockage areas if your yard is empty.

The kids will need somewhere large enough to hide. You can fill a large refrigerator box with pillows and a weight. Or, you can prop up a piece of plywood and a few 2×4’s to make a shelter.

Or, there are shelters made specifically for those that are making a DIY laser tag arena.

Lighting

Depending on the age of the kids, you might not want to let them outside at midnight to play. But, playing at dusk can add another element of fun to your game.

You can install outdoor lighting or just flip on the backyard lights. It’s loads of fun to see the lasers light up in the dark.
