Pre-k readiness activities
There are many different readiness skills your preschooler should have before they start kindergarten. Some of them are life skills like using the bathroom and having good social skills.
But, here are a few educational skills they should start mastering.
- Tracing lines
- Recognizing a few sight words
- Cutting simple shapes
- Learning their ABCs
- Basic additional and subtraction skills
- Big and little / more and less
Preschool number readiness includes understanding things like counting from one to ten and recognizing which shapes are larger or smaller. It also includes putting numbers in order from one to 10.
When you teach younger children, these Valentines Day activities for preschoolers are ideal because they break down learning into small bite-sized activities. Each one can be done in just a few minutes.
Younger children don’t want to sit at a table for 20 minutes or half an hour working on one activity. Their attention span is rather short at this age.
This package includes one sheet for each of the following activities and life skills.
- Recognizing larger and smaller
- Tracing the shapes
- Tracing the lines
- Learning to write your letters
- Basic cutting practice
How to make the sheets reusable
Of course, your child probably won’t master each skill the first time they do these Valentines Day worksheets for preschoolers. So, it makes sense to make them reusable.
If you laminate each sheet – using these laminating sheets – you can reuse them. Just use the whiteboard markers for them to draw with and wipe them off when you are done.
Don’t laminate the cutting practice sheet. They will need to do that with regular paper or card stock.
